New rigging team to increase Kordia’s edge

Thursday, November 29, 2007
Kordia has strengthened its rigging expertise, with the establishment of a new dedicated rigging team in Australia to offer end-to-end broadcast and telecommunications solutions to customers.

A wider range of tasks can now be performed by Kordia so customers can expect a complete suite of engineering services delivered to their doorstep.

“With this increased capability, we will be even more competitive in the marketplace and maintain control over the overall quality, safety and cost, and ultimately deliver a better service to our clients,” said Tony Wilkins, Kordia’s Rigging Manager.

“Kordia will enhance its onsite labour by training multi-skilled teams capable of carrying out various construction and rigging works, thus reducing the number of staff on site and the need for return visits,” added Wilkins.

Kordia’s rigging team will be based initially in Sommersby, an hour north of Sydney, with a senior team that has more than 20 years’ industry experience.

It will focus on specialist rigging and construction works for the broadcast and telecommunications industry including the supply and installation of towers, guyed masts, monopoles and associated civil works.

It will also include the installation of large broadcast and telecommunication antennas, satellites and microwaves.

Broadcast and telecommunications companies are not the only customers who will benefit from Kordia’s rigging services as the company can also provide radio communication/scada systems for the gas, oil and mining industries.
