Network management. Field maintenance. Facilities management. These were the three key components that Australian-based Wi-Fi network owner, Unwired, required to cover 102 sites in Sydney and Melbourne.

After its previous service provider suddenly discontinued services, Unwired required a new, cost-effective network management and field maintenance solution.

The service would have to include 24/7 network management, 2nd level engineering support and 24/7 field services, operating to very strict SLA’s.

Due to its strong Network Management Centre capabilities, vast range of engineering services and highly experienced field support team, Kordia could fulfil Unwired’s project.

With a history of providing Unwired with successful engineering services, such as device registration and software training, Unwired could be confident in Kordia’s ability to meet their stringent requirements in a cost-effective manner.

With the project currently underway, Kordia’s Field Services and Network Management Centre staff have fully familiarised themselves with Unwired’s network, as well as its interconnection with Kordia’s network management tool.

NMC and field staff have been trained on the variety of systems, hardware and software that comprise the Unwired network. Kordia’s experience in providing similar services to other customers minimises the ramp up time involved.

Utilising Kordia’s own Alarm Management software in combination with the Kordia Mercury task manager, Kordia have been able to tailor a network management, escalation and reporting solution to meet Unwired’s needs.

Kordia continues to work with Unwired to provide additional system enhancements, designed to improve operational efficiency. Kordia’s strong team of engineers are working well together to deliver a robust network and field maintenance solution to Unwired.
