Kordia is continuing the successful relationship it has forged with Australia’s first 4G WiMax carrier - vividwireless.

In the latest project development Kordia has secured a pivotal site deployment for vividwireless in Western Australia.
vividwireless selected Kordia following the highly successful deployment of the carrier’s WA flagship  WiMAX based 4G network in March consisting of 150 base stations.

“Given our track record and shared history with vividwireless, Kordia was given the opportunity to  deliver the sites, with the understanding that they will be installed to a high quality and on time,” said Project Manager Phil Knight.

The current project, which was awarded on 1 October 2010, is scheduled for completion at the end of January 2011. It covers five installation sites in the new areas of Medina, Casuarina, Wandi; and microwave upgrades and associated cabling to existing sites, Success and Rockingham.

The Kordia team is also delivering complete EMR reports for Wandi, Casurina and Medina. The comprehensive project has included site commissioning, detailed site design and installation.

Work is intensely under way as the sites are required before year end. Logistically, to meet the delivery requirements, the Kordia team has planned for all sites to be rolled out in parallel.

“We are working closely with vividwireless on the design issues and are progressing with the site builds,” Knight reports.
Kordia is also in ongoing discussions with vividwireless regarding its expansive East Coast network deployment. The carrier is currently installing handfuls of test sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

vividwireless is also poised to trial TD-LTE in its existing spectrum in pockets of Sydney. The Seven Networked owned carrier is reviewing funding and financial options for the national expansion of the network.

Kordia is performing a range of site level scoping for vividwireless on sites for their Perth network and continue to deliver managed services and operations for the existing unwired network and the full Perth vivid network.

The current WA rollout will be an opportunity for Kordia to demonstrate its operational and management prowess on a network expansion project. The project is being led by Phil Knight as Project Manager and Ian Controller.
