Robust maritime monitoring creates ripple effect.
Riding on the back of Kordia’s successful High Frequency (HF) monitoring of the 2008 Sydney to Hobart Race, Kordia extended its monitoring expertise to the Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Race.
The Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Race is one of the three major blue water races organised by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia each year. The race runs for 213 nautical miles over 2.5 days, with the fleet sailing from Nielsen Park Kiosk in Sydney to a mark around 20 nautical miles south-east of Crowdy Head, before heading for the finish between the Queens Wharf Brewery and Stockton Ferry Wharf in Newcastle.
Kordia provided an audio link through its Maritime Safety Communications Services facilities in Canberra, streaming daily reporting schedules from the Kordia maritime network through to the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s dedicated race website www.cyca.com.au.
Kordia was pleased to have been the communications partner for such a significant yacht race.
